Born in Madrid and now entrenched deep in Boston's underground, Ketzaal operates at the darker more, textural end of the techno spectrum. He shows off that signature again here with a tightly wound four-tracker. Opener 'Placed Upon Thee' lands with great tension, all driving stabs and forward thrust, while 'Final Ritual' dips into a rolling, bass-heavy stride that loosens the grip without losing pace. On the flip, 'The Throne' locks into a head-down groove before 'In Bloom' stretches into something more elusive and shapeshifting. Purposeful construction and a clear sense of function don't mean there isn't plenty of character in these dance floor bombs.

Silhouette is a brand new label from Burnski, who is surely the hardest working man in the underground right now. His thirst for sounds that traverse the garage, tech, dub and minimal spectrum seems to be utterly insatiable. For the second release on his latest outlet, he enlists Budapest-based house-head Vitus. In return, he drops five tunes that will work the floor with muscular grooves but bring the fun with great samples. There's raw filth on 'Got Your Head Nod', choppy, jazzy loops on 'Mind State,' a more heads down minimal sound on 'Take Me (To The Floor)' and bubbly energy on the well swung closer 'House Is (Never) Boring'. A charming EP full of club utility.

Canadian Jay Tripwire has always operated at the edges of dub, tech and house. His sound is deliciously deep and perfect for when time melts away and you just want to be zoned out in an endless groove. This new one from Soundrive is a perfect embodiment of that. There's a smoothness to the flow of the drums on 'Irene' and a gentle nature to the delicate pads that are layered up like watercolours while wordless vocals drift in and out like words you can't quite decipher from a dream. Thomas Melchior is a perfect choice of remixer, too, given his penchant for similar sounds, and he brings his signature finesse to a just as deep but slightly more driven rework.

The voraciously prolific Brit producer Four Tet returns to his untypeable-but-highly-listenable windings alias for this surprise new album on his own Text label. Remaining as a vinyl-only LP for now, and currently limited to 2000 copies, it was announced just a week or so ahead of the release. No track titles or details and a bucket load of vibes and strange ideas. Opening softly with gentle eastern instrumentation, he gradually pulls us deeper and deeper into his unique universe with every bendy frequency and strange accent. By the time we're three tracks in, we're bopping away to big bodied dubstep/garage mutations laced with chimes and all kinds of textures that only Keiran Hebden would choose to use. The B-side bares a similar varied, opened-hearted soul as we move from bumping club grooves to slo-mo ethereal shuffles that wouldn't sound out of place in a cathedral. Textbook Text. Following his recent appearance on Blueprint, Mark Broom returns to the label with a unique project, revisiting the work of techno pioneer Regis. Entitled "Power Is Neutral", the release sees Broom rework a selection of seminal Regis recordings originally released on Downwards Records across the albums Gymnastics (1996), Delivered Into The Hands Of Indifference (1998) and Penetration (2001).

Known as one of the key architects of the Birmingham techno sound, Regis (Karl O'Connor) helped shape British techno through his work as co-founder of Downwards Records and a catalogue that continues to influence generations of artists.

For Mark Broom, few artists embody British rave culture quite like Regis. Drawing on source material that has long stood as a cornerstone of UK techno, Broom approaches these edits with both respect and imagination. As Regis puts it, "Mark Broom is like some modern day Bagpuss... he has fired up his techno mouseorgan and polished old relics to make them all shiny and new."

Power Is Neutral delivers six expertly crafted reinterpretations that bridge the raw energy of Regis' original works with Broom's unmistakable contemporary dancefloor sensibility, bringing these timeless tracks to a new generation of listeners.

Ste Roberts delivers his debut vinyl EP for the label — four seriously solid cuts of twisted, underground tech house.

The title track “The Washing Machine” is a driving peak-time workout built around Ste's trademark analogue synths, drum machines, rolling sub bass, sharp drums, bleeps and plenty of weird little twists and turns. It's already had plenty of road testing through Ste's DJ sets, including Houghton and fabric, and it does exactly what you want it to do on a dancefloor.

The A2 “Wong Kei” keeps things rolling with another slick and twisted piece of Ste's production. Clever sound manipulation and a seriously infectious groove make this another one that's going to work hard for Djs.

Over on the flip, Evasive boss Rob Pearson gets stuck into B1 “The Washing Machine”, remixing it into his trademark peak time tech, rolling sub-bass territory and adding a few extra mangled instructions for your increasingly misbehaving washer.

B2 “Shoplifting Like That, Yeah” brings Ste’s trademark electro/breakbeat sound into the mix, with tripped-out vocals, wobbling bass and a groove that’s already been causing a real stir in his live sets. Ste has been using it to open his shows, and it’s easy to hear why — a twisted, energetic way to get things moving.

Minimal Wave presents the 2017 Repress of the full length LP by French duo Deux. Gérard Pelletier and Cati Tete formed Deux after meeting in Lyon in 1981. Their music can be described as minimal synth with stripped down rhythm compositions and suitably cold duets. Their influences are a perfect blend of Kraftwerk and French synthpop. Between 1983 and 1992, they released a cassette and several rare singles : Felicita / Game & Performance and Europe / Paris / Orly. They also appeared on the V/A BIPP LP (2006) and most recently on V/A The Minimal Wave Tapes: Vol 1 LP. The album features newly remastered demo tracks as well as their best studio recordings. Some 30 years after they first met in the DJ booth of Tokyo’s Spacelab Yellow nightclub, close friends François Kevorkian and Dimitri From Paris have finally joined forces in the studio. The result is The Nassau Excursion, a dazzlingly good three-track EP inspired by their joint love of disco and boogie-era dance records made at Island Records’ Compass Point Studio in the Bahamas.

Across three essential tracks, François and Dimitri explore and celebrate this distinctive Caribbean post-disco sound – one where weighty basslines and heavy drum machine beats rub shoulders with early ‘80s synths, dub-style production, heady hand percussion patterns and arrangements drenched in space echo and tape delay.

Lempuyang has been at the heart of the second wave of dub techno since day one. It's a label that deals in super deep and high-quality sounds from a range of artists. Now they welcome back Adria, three years after his debut, with a heavyweight follow-up that dives deep into the murky edges of dub experimentation. This new release trades dancefloor immediacy for atmosphere and weight by blending low-slung rhythms, hazy tape hiss and hypnotic textures that nod to classic sound system culture. Each track comes rich in analogue warmth and restrained tension. This is dub crafted with precision and that fully rewards close listening and real exploration of space, texture and bass pressure.

Cititrax present a split EP by two massive talents, Borusiade and The Sixteen Steps. Borusiade, originally from Bucharest, Romania began as a DJ in the early 2000s and then started producing music in 2005. With a background in classical music, she combined her love of raw electronics, obscure themes and melodic lines to create her own signature sound. She has released on the Cómeme label as well as Corresepondent. Infatuation and Confutation are dark, moody and intense tracks that catch you upon first listen. The flip side of the Promises and Infatuation EP features The Sixteen Steps, the brainchild of George Lanham who cut his musical teeth DJing and running events in the south of England. We have been listening to many of his tracks endlessly for a while now. They've also been a highlight of Veronica Vasicka's DJ sets as of late. Signals From The South and Promises On The Run are both immaculately produced, hypnotic, dance floor killers. They are sparse ebm meets smoky warehouse techno, and offer a wonderful contrast to Borusiade's layered emotive tracks that reminisce of an East Village club in the 1980s. Themes of infatuation, appearances, and anonymity appear throughout this EP from the music itself right through to the cover art.

Puglia-born Bress Underground brings his reverence for early US house and garage to a new outing for Spanish label Mate. 'This House' opens with chopped up vocal stabs, acrobatic drums and percussive rhythms. 'Connected' is smooth and seductive with dusty swing and muted chord work. 'Ready Or Not' brings some electronic futurism with sleek, liquid metal lines over deep, dynamic drums and 'Take Me Higher' is a big finish with Kerri Chandler kicks and chords, all finished with a true school house vocal. It's timeless, effective tackle for cultured floors.

More Water pairs the dancefloor stylings of Sub Basics and Witch Trials through the platform of Temple Of Sound. Beckoning the listener to the centre of the dancefloor with haste, there they will remain as the tracks appropriately travel from light, to dusk, to dark. All the while holding a high-paced tumbling percussion, encouraging complete expressive movement.

Encapsulating bright keys travelling on a wave of undulating rhythm, littered with muffled vocals that enhance the persistent energy that traverses daytime house. All the way to warehouse rackets that hiss and pump with 4 AM energy, this release has something for every moment of the night.
